I have two ways of coping with this. One is to tell myself that the Birth/chers are not real conservatives because they represent only fringe. The second is simply to remind myself that if they are conservatives, I am not.
Still, the either/or aspect is frustrating, because either they are conservatives or they are not, which means either I am a conservative or I am not.
How much am I supposed to care about a label?

in the Age of Terror... our President being on a first name basis with an unrepentant terrorist is probably a bad example to set and causes most Americans with half a brain to wonder “What is that guy doing with William Ayers?”
Precisely why every Republican should hope this unelectable man is the nominee.
My worry is that Hillary can still beat him, and that in the course of the battle with Obama she'll have accumulated an ever more moderate and centrist appearance than she's ever had in her career.
